These family portraits were pretty special to me, as well as this beautiful family.
A little backstory.
[spacer height=”20px”]About a year ago I went to a photography workshop and this is where I met this awesome girl Melissa from Melissa Madden Photography. After the workshop, our friendship started and I was so happy to have one more awesome photographer-friend that shared her passion and love for photography the way I do and just gets me in many other things.
We went to countless location scoutings, and many girls’ night outs (many but still not enough lol) and chatted about so many different things, that I just feel like I knew her since childhood.

[spacer height=”20px”]So when it was time for their family pictures, I was more than happy to photograph my friend’s beautiful family.
Fall is a great time for professional family portraits. Even though San Diego does not have many fall colors, but it is still possible to find some nice locations that reflect this beautiful time of the year. For their family portraits, we decided to go Mission Trials. It’s a beautiful nature preserve, that has so much to offer to photographers for family portraits and just people who love to hike and be close to nature.

[spacer height=”20px”]I have to admit, working with a professional photographer has two sides to it. From one side, it’s easy, because the photographer in front of the camera knows what to do and I barely have to direct them. But from another side, it is tricky and puts additional pressure on me, because the photographer in front of the camera could be very picky about lighting and other technical stuff that goes into every session. But with this particular session, I was so relaxed and I knew it’s going to be a fabulous session.

Besides the fact, that this family is stunning, I have to give credit to Melissa for putting perfectly coordinating and timeless outfits for the whole family. Nice bold colors, like navy blue and burgundy, are one of my favorites colors for fall family portraits.

Once we nail perfect family portraits that usually goes to Christmas card, we move to have some fun with tickles, hugs, and giggles. And this is by far my favorite part of every family portrait session. Just look at how many cute smiles in these images. For me personally, this kind of picture makes a great wall art in your house.

As usual, I try to include into every family session not only images with kids but just mom and dad. Why? Just because. Because it’s nice to have a little reminder of how important is to not forget about each other.

And of course, we couldn’t miss some special mother and son moments, as well as father and daughter moments. Great laughs followed by Eskimo kisses and hugs!
