This was suppose to be a mini maternity session, where the story is all about mom’s growing belly. But 2 year old Eli completely stole the show! Well. no wonder! Just look at that cute face!
This was the third time I photographed this amazing family.
First time it was when Eli was just started walking and was about 13 month old! The moment I saw the guy, my first thought was how unbelievably cute he was. The session went so well and we got so many great images to be cherished forever.
Second session was during the most beautiful season in San Diego – spring. This time the session was with grandpa, who came for a visit. Ely was almost two by that time. His cheeks were still chubby and his personality was already way stronger! We had some great moments of fun. However, we all know really well when toddlers hit terrible twos stage, but it just made things more interesting!
This third time, Eli was a little bit over 2 years old, and he was already full of personality! And I was so happy to still see his sparkly eyes and sweetest rosy cheeks! That face is so cute, so I really miss that face!
As a la Jolla family and maternity photographer, I love when parents do theirs “homework” and prepare for their photosession. Mom did a great job making sure the kid is well rested and not hungry! They brought along Eli’s favorite snack – watermelon! And of course I brought my “bribe” as well. A chocolate surprise egg, but oh wow! Eli doesn’t like sweets! Being family photographer in La Jolla, I meet a lot of kids and toddlers and I would say it’s pretty rare thing when a toddler doesn’t like chocolate, won’t you agree?
But guess what, that day Eli didn’t even need any bribes! He took a good 3 hour hap and was all smiles and ready to play!
Let’s talk about mom and her belly a little bit. As I mentioned above this session was suppose to be a maternity session, to show off mom’s beautiful belly. This was actually 2 weeks before her new baby boy arrived and I’ve never seen belly that small and cute! First time I knew this family was expecting a new baby, mom was already 20 weeks along and there was no belly showing! Seriously! I know all women carry their babies differently, but I guess this is what you get when you workout regularly. Whatever this mom is doing in the gym to keep herself in that good shape, I really need to do the same! It was actually pretty inspirational to talk to her about her “obsession” with the gym!
While we were trying hard to concentrate on maternity part of the session. Eli again stole the show. Well, we didn’t mind!
This family of three is now a happy family of four. Adorable and healthy new baby boy Leo arrived in two weeks after this maternity session, and his newborn session is coming soon on the blog as well.
